A former employee of Prairie County has been arrested, according to Prairie County Sheriff Rick Hickman. 

Hickman said all Prairie County facilities are closely monitored, administered facilities, and Tasha Rankin, was arrested on a Class B felony charge.

She was charged with furnishing prohibited articles to jail inmates. The charge included possession providing prohibited articles to inmates inside the jail, according to Hickman.

At this time the investigation is ongoing, but Rankin was able to post bond on this charge.
